What is 'Sound of Being' Journey?

Ancient wisdom from cultures from all over the world are rooted in this philosophy that we are vibrational beings. This is now being bridged with western science and the research is being affirmed and implemented into the medical world. 


'Sound of Being' is the name of our modality. The opportunity to guide us into this place of listening in presence to our own BEING. Sound of Being combines Sound Healing, Breathwork, Meditation & Energy work into 90 min facilitated journeys with a myriad of instruments.

  • WHAT IF I AM A NEWBIE?
    We believe that anyone can learn to hold space as a sound healer if you have the passion, desire and willingness to learn. We do ask that students have their own personal practice with a crystal singing bowl or other sacred instrument before coming to the training which you learn in the online self paced pre requisite course. We also believe that if you are feeling drawn to this work, it is because you are activating a remembering within you. All of our ancestors in the majority of cultures around the world have used sound for healing. We have had students from all walks of life with absolutely no background in sound healing, music or healing. We have had politicians, teachers, clinical psychologists, shamans, audio engineers, tradies and many more interesting backgrounds come to the training. We hold space for you to come as YOU-your authentic self. And leave the training with a deeper knowing of who your authentic self is, using sound as a tool.
  • WHAT IS SOUND OF BEING™?
    It is a sound healing modality that is rooted in vedic and shamanic philosophy. It weaves meditation, breathwork and energy medicine into the sessions so the facilitator is embodied in the sound work they are offering, and the participants are held in a trauma informed place of deep safety for the journey.
  • ARE THERE PRE REQUISITES FOR THIS COURSE?
    Yes! We do ask that all of our students do our one day online workshop which explains how to use crystal singing bowls for your personal practice. See our website for the next live workshop in your area. We also offer this workshop as an online self paced workshop that you can do it your own time. There is an assessment component to this beginners workshop if you wish to continue your education to the level one training. We teach basic sound healing techniques, our key meditation practices needed as a Sound of Being™ facilitator and how to deepen your personal practice with the instrument as your anchor.
  • DO I NEED TO HAVE A SET OF CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS FOR THE COURSE?
    Yes, you will need a set of crystal singing bowls for the course. Either your own, or some purchased from us.If you are flying to the training, we can organize for you to borrow bowls to practice on during the course. We do recommend having the set for your post assessments though, or having a set you could borrow. The instruments we sell are high quality and tuned to attuned notes. We really value this quality and have sourced instruments to provide our students with incredibly powerful quartz singing bowls for the journeys they offer.
  • DO I GET A DISCOUNT ON THE CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS IF I STUDY WITH YOU?
    Yes! We offer a discount to our students for our crystal singing bowls sets. Part of our vision of selling the sets was to provide high quality bowls for our students. Please reach out to us if you have signed up for our training and we will provide that to you. Our crystal singing bowls sets include the pre requisite workshop.
  • WHERE DO I STAY DURING THE TRAINING?
    We ask that you organise your own accomodation for the training. Airbnb's are affordable for single rooms in Mullumbimby or Bangalow. We will also reach out to the group closer to the training to connect you all together in case you want to share a house together, close to town. Mullumbimby is 10 mins drive from Brunswick Heads and Ocean Shores, and 20 minutes drive from Byron Bay. 30 minutes from Ballina airport. 40 minute drive from Gold Coast airport. For our Level 2 training, we hire a huge stunning house and all stay together, but for level one, we need a large venue for this group work. The area is rural, so you will need a car to get around.
  • IS FOOD PROVIDED DURING THE COURSE?
    We will provide morning and afternoon tea. Lunch options: you can bring lunch in, we will have a fridge and somewhere for you to heat up the food or you can head into town and grab something yummy too.
  • WHEN I FINISH THE COURSE, WILL I FEEL CONFIDENT IN RUNNING MY OWN GROUP SOUND HEALINGS?
    Yes, this is our vision. We are giving you all of the varying tools and skills needed to go into the world and hold space for groups. We will also give you lots of business skills to be able to build your business and approach different types of places to use training prepares you with the skills, confidence and embodiment to bring this work into your community. We will also support you in group mentoring for the 6 months post training immersion. Thai way we can hold you while you are offering sessions to your community, and you can receive the learning you need. We will continue to gather in our group but on zoom, twice before your graduation ceremony.
  • HOW LONG IS THE POST STUDY COMPONENT OF THE TRAINING?
    This is up to you. For some students who want to fully commit, you could have all your theory and practical assessments done in 6 months. This is our vision! We will run a graduation ceremony at 6 months. For others it may take 12 months, and we will support you with keeping to this vision so you can be a fully qualified Sound of Being™ Facilitator.
  • WILL THIS TRAINING HELP ME PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL SOUND HEALINGS FOR CLIENTS?
    Yes. It will give you a deeper understanding of sound therapy, but in a wider sense. These skills will be able to be brought into your client work naturally. You could run the Sound of Being™ journey for a client individually too. But they are created to truly nourish the nervous system so the participants remember their wholeness. So that is what can be deeply supported for groups 2-50!

    We have our LEVEL 2 training which is specifically focused around giving 1:1 sound healing sessions. In level 2 we go into how to work more deeply with holding clients through physical, emotional, mental challenges/illnesses/disease. We teach you muscle testing, energy medicine and more trauma informed education to help you in fully holding your clients in a deep and powerful way. You also learn more instruments that are directly linked with 1:1 sound healing work.
  • WILL I BE ABLE TO GET INSURANCE FOR THIS MODALITY?
    Yes, you will be able to access insurance as a fully qualified Sound of Being™ Facilitator 150hr training. You can then practice in over 35 countries across the world and become a member of an association to receive the support you need.
  • WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE?
    Yes, this training will give you a certificate that is for Level 1-150HR-Sound of Being™ Facilitator
  • WHAT IF I CANT PAY THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THE COURSE?
    We have payment plans to support you. Please see the link below for all the payment plan options. Please note that the earlybird does not apply, unless the full amount is paid off before it finishes.
  • WILL I LEARN TO RUN MEDITATIONS IN THE COURSE?
    Part of this training is to teach you how to guide people into creative visualisations, breath work meditation, medicine drum journeying, pranayama techniques and basic mantra meditation. We will be offering an extra weekend training if you would like to go deeper in meditation training. Our level 3 training is based on using your voice for healing, for in meditation and mantra and kirtan.
  • WHAT INSTRUMENTS WILL I LEARN IN THE COURSE?
    Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, medicine drum, percussion, Native American flute, hunt drums, gongs and harmonium or shruti box. Remember that you are learning to use these instruments in group settings. Working with them in private sessions is different again. You will not need to purchase all of these instruments. Not everyone will resonate with them all. We introduce you to them so you can get a sense for which ones you truly connect with. The only instruments you need for the Sound of Being™ journey for your assessment and community is the 7 chakra set of 432htz crystal singing bowls.

  • Are you offering any scholarship positions?

    Yes. We have a full and a half scholarships available for those experiencing financial hardship or disadvantage. These are offered once a year. Please email us explaining your current situation and we can send you an application form.

SHA Refunds / Withdrawal Policy Covers payments, withdrawals, refunds and remittances of tuition fees associated
with the delivery of SHA Courses, Workshops and Trainings

1. SHA students and members enrolled into courses or workshops are charged a
tuition fee determined by the Committee of Management and/or Course or
Workshop Coordinator for the course or workshop they are enrolled in. Course
enrolment deposit fees are non-refundable.
2. Full fee-paying students are eligible for a refund of fees, less the deposit, if they
withdraw on or before the 6 weeks prior to commencement of the
course/workshop.
3. All refunds processed will incur a 3% administration fee, regardless of
circumstance.
4. Students are eligible for a refund of fees if they withdraw after the final six
weeks before course commencement only if they can demonstrate special
circumstances to the Course or Workshop Coordinator as to why they cannot
proceed on the course/workshop.
5. Students are eligible for a refund when SHA has had to cancel the
course/workshop due to low enrolment numbers, or unforeseen
circumstances. SHA will refund student course fees, including deposit fee. Or
fully transferrable to another course.
6. In the case of illness, Covid 19 symptoms, or exposure to someone with Covid
19 symptoms, at least 24 hours notice must be given to the event organiser in
order to be eligible for a partial refund of 50% (this applies to both online and
face to face workshops)
7. If, due to increased Covid 19 restrictions SHA are required to postpone a
workshop or event, participants will be advised that their booking will be
moved to a future date. If the participant is unable to attend at the new date,
they will be eligible for a full refund.
8. If you are attending an online event it is your responsibility to ensure you can
attend/connect to the internet. Refunds are not given for failure to
attend/connect to the workshop/event.
9. After a course/workshop/training has commenced, a student may apply for a
partial refund for the modules/study weekends that were not undertaken.
Any partial refund will be to a maximum of 80% of the total course fee.That is 20% of the total course fee will not be refunded once a student has commenced and will be calculated based on the remaining units to be studied for course completion.

Eligibility for a refund of up to the remaining 80% of the course fee
will be dependent on the student participation in the modules offered.

Students who have elected to pay by instalment and withdraw before they have
met their financial obligation based on their course participation will be sent an invoice for any final amounts owing.

A student who completes a course but has not paid all relevant course fees will not be issued with a statement of
attainment or certificate until such monies have been paid in full. Students withdrawing will not be eligible for a Certificate.

10. Where a student defers completion of their studies, a 12 month period applies from the end of the period of deferral for the next available course enrolment
or until the course/module is again available.

An administration fee of 5% on
top of course fees for deferrals will be charged. Fee increases for future available courses may require additional payment.

11. SHA students and workshop attendees may also be charged incidental fees for goods or services related to the course/workshop in which they are enrolled.
12.All SHA courses and workshop fees and charges are reviewed on a annual basis and are subject to change.
13.All students and workshop attendees, by enrolling, are contracted to pay their fees as applicable.
14.A student may not apply for a refund of course fees if they have completed, but failed the course.
Opportunities will be made available to resit any assessments
which may incur a resit fee. Extensions for assessments may also incur a fee.
15. The SHA Treasurer, in conjunction with the Membership Secretary, as well as
the appropriate Course Coordinator or Workshop Coordinator is responsible
for the charging and/or refunding of course fees in accordance with this policy.

16. SHA Committee of Management is responsible for the maintenance of the SHA Refund Policies and procedures.
